DESCRIPTION:In 1994\, Dr. William Carroll\, President Emeritus of Benedictine University\, organized the first Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast. Over time\, it became an annual event that drew more than 1\,000 attendees and raised money for scholarships. Sadly\, as a result of Dr. Carroll's retirement\, this important\, uplifting community event went away. RecoGNIZING the great need to bring diverse communities together\, the Inland Real Estate Group decided to bring ack tHis annual event by working in partnership with more than 200 community leaders from all walks of life and backgrounds.\n\n\n\nAll net proceeds from the Breakfast will GO to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Fund of DuPage Foundation\, a new PERMANENTLY ENDOWED fund seeDed by Inland\, to augment the Foundation's Community. Needs Grant\n\nProgram in the areas of health\, human services\, and education\, with a focus on supporting DuPage 501(c)(3) public charities that prioritize serving Black\, Indigenous\, and People of Color.\n\n\n\nMartin Luther King\, Jr. often spoke of beloved community as a way of transforming people and relationships and creating communities grounded in reconciliation\, friendship\, and human dignity.
